The Nifty Midcap Select index is a benchmark that measures the performance of mid-cap companies listed on India&#8217;s National Stock Exchange (NSE). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It consists of 50 mid-cap stocks selected based on various financial metrics, such as liquidity and market capitalization. The index serves as a useful tool for fund managers and investors to assess the performance of their mid-cap stock portfolios.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On March 24, 2023, the NSE issued a circular (Circular Ref. No: 55\/2023) outlining the revisions that will be implemented for trading in Nifty Midcap Select (MIDCPNIFTY) contracts:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4107\" src=\"https:\/\/paytmmoney.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/6-Apr_Revised-NIFTY-Midcap-Select-FO-Expiry-Cycle_634x469.png\" alt=\"nifty midcap select f&amp;o expiry cycle paytm money blog\" width=\"634\" height=\"469\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.paytmmoney.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/6-Apr_Revised-NIFTY-Midcap-Select-FO-Expiry-Cycle_634x469.png 634w, https:\/\/www.paytmmoney.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/6-Apr_Revised-NIFTY-Midcap-Select-FO-Expiry-Cycle_634x469-300x222.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 634px) 100vw, 634px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><b>Here\u2019s what you need to know:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trading in MIDCPNIFTY weekly index futures shall be discontinued.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accordingly, no new MIDCPNIFTY Weekly Index futures contract shall be introduced from April 25, 2023 (end of the day).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, Weekly Futures contracts created till April 25, 2023 will be available for trading until their respective expiry\/maturity dates.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trading in the Weekly Index option of MIDCPNIFTY contracts will be continued.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The below are the changes in the expiry day of derivatives contract on MIDCPNIFTY:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><b>Don&#8217;t miss out on the fine print &#8211; NSE&#8217;s important instructions<\/b><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All current futures and options contracts&#8217; expiration and maturity dates will be revised\/postponed to wednesday at the end of the day on April 25, 2023. For instance, the current contract&#8217;s expiration or maturity date, which was originally set for May 2, 2023 (Tuesday), will now fall on May 3, 2023 (Wednesday).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any new contract created for trading on \/ after EOD of April 25, 2023 shall be created as per the revised expiry days as mentioned in the aforesaid table.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is no other change in the existing contract specifications of MIDCPNIFTY.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><b>Wait, there\u2019s more to this!<\/b><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In comparison to Nifty Future margin, the margin needed for one lot of MIDCPNIFTY trading will be approx Rs. 70,000, or about 30% less.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The lot size of MIDCPNIFTY is 75 qty.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contract value of MIDCPNIFTY is approx Rs. 5,10,000\u00a0 (~6800 x 75 qty)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Disclaimer\u2013<\/strong> Investments in the securities market are subject to market risks, read all the related documents carefully before investing. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This content is solely for educational purposes, and the securities mentioned here are merely examples and should not be construed as recommendations.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Paytm Money Ltd SEBI Reg No. Broking \u2013 INZ000240532.
