India-US Face-off on Iran, 7 New IPOs & More2 min read

Commentary:

Key benchmarks indices declined on Friday, snapping their three-day rally, as investors booked profits amid mixed global cues. Sentiment turned cautious after the US revoked India’s sanctions waiver for developing Iran’s Chabahar port. The rupee traded in a narrow range, ending ~7 paise lower at 88.11 against the dollar on broad greenback strength and weak equities. In the broader market, small- and mid-caps fared relatively better than the large caps. Sectorally, IT, private banks, and FMCG led losses, while PSU banks, realty, and pharma saw buying interest. Market volatility remained moderate, with India VIX ending flat.
