What is KYC? Why is it required?

KYC (Know Your Customer) is mandated by SEBI for verification of identity and address of the investors. It includes providing information of financial status, occupation and other demographic information. Individuals must submit these details which will be verified for them to become KYC compliant and start investing in any mutual fund.
I have already verified my KYC with Paytm. Should I verify again?

Yes. You may have completed your KYC for Paytm Wallet or Paytm Payments Bank. However, as Paytm Money is a different company, you will have complete KYC verification again on Paytm Money for making investments.
Is my KYC data safe? Is it shared with anyone?

Yes, your KYC data is absolutely secure with Paytm Money. When you choose to invest in any mutual fund, your KYC details are shared with respective AMC only.
What are the document or process requirements for KYC?

Requirements to complete KYC:
1. PAN Card
2. Address Proof (Passport, Driving License, Voter ID, Aadhaar Card)
3. IPV (in-person verification) via a video recording
I am already investing in Mutual Funds. Do I need to do KYC verification again?

If you are an existing mutual fund investor, we will validate your KYC status against your PAN number. If all required details are available, you do not need to do KYC again. If any of your details are missing, you will need to submit those additional details.
I have submitted all documents but my my KYC verification is pending. What should I do?

If your KYC Verification is pending for more than 72 hours after submitting the documents, please message us and we will have it resolved.
I am an NRI. Can I invest through Paytm Money?
