Commentary:

Indian benchmarks Sensex and Nifty slipped on Monday, tracking the cautious mood across Asian markets ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s policy meeting, where rate cuts are expected to resume. Optimism over India-US trade talks, however, lent some support, with Nifty50 holding above the 25,000 mark, a key support level. In the broader market, mid- and small-caps outperformed, while sectoral trends were mixed. Realty and PSU Banks led the gains, whereas Pharma, IT, and Auto stocks declined. Market volatility edged higher, with the India VIX rising 2.7%.
