Just like our investors, we too are keen on expanding our portfolio. This time taking it ahead, Paytm Money has introduced Bonds on the platform.

We are all ready to serve you and the product is live on iOS and in a short span will be live on Web and Android.

The PML team has simplified the process of searching and trading in bonds. To get started, all you have to do is add them to your watchlist and track your favourite bonds.

Let’s take you along the feature, it’s importance and step by step process to get started-

What are Bonds and why do people trade in it?

To put it in simple words, a bond is a kind of loan from an investor to a borrower such as a company or government. Companies issue bonds to raise money for a variety of purposes be it to grow their business, investing in materials and other corporate reasons.

In return, the company promises to return the money, also known as Principal on a specified date of maturity. By trading in bonds you receive a fixed coupon payment on the investment made, this is over and above the capital gains.

Yield is a concept in bond investment that must be kept thoroughly in mind, it’s the tool that is used to measure the returns of one bond against another. It helps you in making informed decisions. Yield is nothing but the return received on bond investments.
